| Our store is located in Oakes, ND, a town of about 2000 situated in the southeast corner of our state. We opened our store on Feb. 5, 2007 after 6 months of remodeling and restoring a building which was built in 1908. We’ve brought back the original stucco walls and charming tin ceiling. Our cozy store houses 2000 bolts of quilting fabrics and a full line of notions and patterns.
We invite you to “come for a visit, and get inspired!”. Our unique name communicates two of my passions since childhood, dancing and sewing. For the past 10 yrs, I have owned and operated Oakes School of Dance where I’ve taught classes, choreographed and costumed many shows. After the opportunity arose for my husband and I to purchase a building on Main Street, we decided to jump in with both feet…..so here we are….The Waltzing Quilter!
